Tammy Leigh Pottery
Hickory North carolina
Tammy Leigh Brooks was born in Hickory
North Carolina in 1960. While working in
telecommunications, she took night classes in Raku hand-built pottery. Two years later, she gave up her job of 16 years to become a full-time potter. She has recently specialized in making sculptural roosters.
In January 2007, she participated in the Legendary Raw Arts Festival in New York city. Originating in London England in 2004, it was held for the first time in the United States.
Collaborating with NYARTS magazine, the raw arts festival celebrated 28 self-taught visionaries creating fine art.
Tammy's depth, perception and attention to fine detail visually separates her work from the norm.
Her one of a kind fighting roosters are in high demand with commissioned pieces displayed in the finest collections.
