Music and Food Highlights for 2008

Each year, Art in the Shop strides to provide the finest in local and regional musical artists to grace it's "Shop Stage" for your enjoyment
The same applies to providing tasty and interesting food and beverage offerings all combined together to make your visit one to remember.
2007 Food and Beverage Offerings
Direct from the barbeque capital of the area came this year's featured food provider.
Brushy Mountain Smokehouse and Creamery  presented smoked barbeque that left
you wanting seconds.  201 Wilksboro Boulevard in North Wilkesboro North Carolina
"Jammin' Java" provides rocket fuel for the masses in the form of coffee and Tea.
Various liquids, sweets were also on hand.
Larry's Music and Sound continues as our main stage sound provider.
Larry is one of the main supporters of Art in the Shop and provides pro-sound to many
of the area's major events. Located on the square in downtown Hickory.
Each year Art in the Shop presents a raffle to win fabulous art pieces
donated by each year's artists

Look for the raffle booth and purchase an Art in the Shop tee shirt while you're there!
All raffle proceeds go to Full Circle Arts a not for profit artists cooperative.
Tickets are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00.

Tickets may be purchased at Full Circle Arts, from Full Circle members and the day of the event.
Raffle will be held around 5 PM, you do not need to be present to win,
but must arrange for pick up of any items won.

Rhythm Changes, the new release by Joseph Hasty, is a truly eclectic blend of original acoustic jazz
that features everything from straight-ahead swing to the bossa nova. The listener will also find a
samba tune that would make any Brazilian proud as well as a jazz waltz that is literally
“cooler than the other side of the pillow!”

Here you will find information on Art in the Shop past, present and future and metal artist Richard Sinclair.  The Shop, owned by Dick and Barbara Sinclair, is located in Alexander County at the base of Barrett’s Mountain NC in scenic Taylorsville NC.  Now in its ninth year, Art in the Shop is an annual fall gathering of artists, musicians and food for all to enjoy.
